About the job:
- Design and develop new features and functionality in our Rails application.
- Be able and excited to extend past the Rails, into the guts of the application.(front or back end, or both)
- Share application support duties (not front line!) through the beta phase and into commercialization.
- Use your critical thinking skills to innovate and solve problems.
The ideal candidate will have most of the following:
- An engineering degree
- 1-3 years of industry experience as a software engineer
- Initial knowledge of Agile processes
- Initial knowledge of Ruby on Rails
- Experience writing SQL
- Some experience writing Javascript and AJAX
- Good development skills in a UNIX environment and familiarity with UNIX command line
- Knowledge of at least one source control system
- Ability to think outside the box and make decisions based on the problem space
- Ability to quickly write clean, well-organized code in any language
